Twice now in this league we have
encountered players that did not
belong. For the sake of brevity,
let's call them: "Definately
Offensive and Ruthless Kickers"
or D.O.R.K.

How to identify a D.O.R.K.:

-was he present during previous
games? Do other teams confirm
that they have seen him before?
If no to both questions, you're
dealing with a D.O.R.K.

-Does he play for one of the top
teams in Canada? Is your team
currently playing in a recreational
league? If yes to both questions,
you're dealing with a D.O.R.K.

-Does he completely dominate
the game, either scoring or
participating in every goal
scored? If yes, you're dealing
with a D.O.R.K.

-Do your team members feel
cheated out of what could have
been a potentially competitive
and entertaining game because
of his presence? If yes,
you're dealing with a D.O.R.K.

-Do some of the opposition
members feel cheated out of
what could have been a
potentially competitive
and entertaining game because
of his presence? If yes,
you're dealing with a D.O.R.K.

If you play in highly at a
highly competitive level
and a friend asks you to play
a game in a recreational
league in a small town Ontario,
please consider this:

Just say no to being a D.O.R.K.

These events make this author
truly appreciate the card system
in use by several leagues in
Ottawa.

Game description:

It was a tough night for the
defence. Constant odd-man
rushes made a big difference
with most goals coming out of
those opportunities.

Kashif scores his first since
rejoining the team and Tariq
nets his 17th.

Alleged ringers, or at least
players who didn't belong in
a rec league also made a
difference. Fortunately the
playoffs are pretty much set
and this disgrace won't make
a difference in the standings.
